Sometimes it is our time to get uncomfortable, so today I challenge you to think about joining me in making a healthy difference in our communities. We all have a different story, walking on a different path, living a life that will inspire someone else, if we choose to share it.

I challenge you to step outside your comfort zone
Maybe you need accountability for staying on track - being a coaching will help you do just that.
Maybe you need some extra income coaching can help with that even if it's to pay for your healthy shakes or for your kids activities or Christmas gifts or as big a pay off debt.
I have seen personally that is takes all kinds to be a coach and I believe if you feel called to find out more than please contact me via message you don't have to like, comment or do anything but say maybe it's my time to make the difference in someone else's life.

I'm hosting a call about what I do as a coach, it may seem like a lot but it's just me sharing with you here on FB, my kids hanging out with me, daily life happening, sitting in the lobby of my kids activities, drinking coffee in a bookstore, watching the kids play at the park, sometimes on the couch in my comfy yoga pants or still in bed...yup those are my "offices"

As a coach you are part of a HUGE family that supports, encourages, and celebrates the success of others in all areas of life.

"Power To Give Back" Challenge


This isn't just any old challenge...

The “Power to Give Back” For every P90 challenge pack sold in the month of October from www.Joyforfitness.com my family will donate shipping and pack 1 shoebox. We set a goal to be able to pack 20 shoeboxes in addition to what we already pack.  Would you be willing to help not only your health& fitness, but helping others that have way less than you and me.

we've turned DIET into the unhealthiest four-letter word

DIET the unhealthiest four-letter word


That’s right we has a society have turn the word DIET from a

noun the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.

 to only a

verb restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight.

We have trained our brains to think eating healthy food means you are on a diet, well the verb “diet” means something restrictive and to go without. So, no wonder so many individuals are overweight, we don’t like to be told that we “can and can’t have” so the cycle begins we rebel and get overweight, sluggish and lack energy. So we find the newest fad out there that guarantees to lose the weight in 3,5 or 30 days we buy the book, we start the “diet” but wait…it’s a party and the negativity starts “IT’S NOT FAIR” I can’t have that cake it’s not on my Diet. It’s the holidays, I want to eat everything my family eats and so forth. Or the best one yet and this will be my focus “I don’t want my children seeing that I eat differently than them or know I’m dieting” My #1 Favorite excuse, yes this is a HUGE parental excuse we use every day to get out of choosing the foods that will make us healthy.

So with all that said, I’ll explain why that excuse is actually the unhealthiest excuse for 3 reasons from personal experience.

1.    1. You control the food in your home if you don’t you should be, I don’t care if you live off of $50 a week or $1,000 budget your home your choices. That means no the fastest a cheapest thing to buy is a happy meal, I don’t think so and forget about salads they cost a fortune out. So think about your grocery list, think about your eating out and remember YOU control all of that, talk with your spouse if you both do it and get on the same page. Don’t use the word DIET as a verb start using is as a noun.

2.   2.  You are blaming your children for why you are unhealthy and choosing unhealthy foods to eat…think about that one. That is a lot to carry as a child and a HUGE red flag for their future you just ingrained that eating unhealthy is OK because you have children or a bad day and well it’s just what they eat so you eat it too. You teach them the word Diet!  they don’t know what it is except that food pyramid in school, or a commercial. So turn your words and attitude toward food into a positive.  

3.    3. Guess what IF you are sitting down to eat with them (unless you are serving them veggies) and you get ice cream they DO NOT see you eating something different. They see you eating WITH them Period! They want TIME not focused on Food. So I urge and encourage you to give them time not excuses.
They don't see anything but PICNIC with mommy! Don't make it out to be anything else. 

Food for Thought
1.    You can eat healthy as a family
2.    You can serve them foods different, if they have rice, pasta, rice or anything that doesn’t fit in your plan pass and give them the option too, but your plan becomes a life style and hence will look like what they eat too.
3.    You don’t have to skip the cake (unless you have allergies) of course & enjoy life’s celebrations, but don’t celebrate for a week.
4.    You are worth the time to get healthy and again they don’t see it as a DIET they see you eating food, real food that you have at home.
5.    They see a happy Healthy, energetic mommy, that is the legacy you want to give them. It’s about building a healthy foundation about life, food, family time and my favorite… fitness *enjoy it and show them you enjoy being fit to run, ride and play with them.
Healthy generations start with you and your home so I pray if you do not have healthy foundations for you and your family please ask me for more information. It has taken me years to encourage my children and husband to know the difference between hunger, boredom and cravings. It’s a daily job but its worth it and I’m worth feeling my best to take care of the most important things in my life…my family.

Confessions of a real Gym Rat

How is your fitness going?  I really mean that question.  Do you think about it every day? Not in an obsessive way but did I do something healthy for my body ad heart kind of way.

Most if not all of us have had or have a gym membership, that magic membership that is going to change our lives…so has it? Again take a moment to answer that personally, has it proven to give you the results you are looking for? If the answer is yes! Than a huge high five to find routines and exercise that are proving to be beneficial. BUT for some of you just thought “I don’t know I go every other day” I have a gym bag but…yes you! Don’t get me wrong I love the gym, I love the energy when you walk into a heart bumping sweat flying building (I’m weird like that) but it’s true, but what is also true is just because the person next to you found their routine and getting results doesn't mean you are or not the results you want maybe you are maintaining doing your heart good or are you? I’m asking because the gym is like everyone membership for it to prove beneficial in our lives and be useful we must use it to its fullest potential the same with your body.

Confessions of a real Gym Rat – up before the sun every morning at the age of 16 to hit the gym before the doors barley opened that was me, I ran 3 miles 6:30 min miles, lifted free weights (I did have amazing traps) my upper body was my pride and joy, I did the circuit training and ended with 10 minutes abs routine. Every day!!! My sister and I were staples in that place; part of the family, but my upper body always improved my lower body stayed the same my legs and thighs although strong where heavy and thick “just my body type” so I thought! We continued this routine for years! And I was skinny I had under 10% body fat but I still was thick. And then I gained weight in my late teens and early 20’s, I ate junk food and then went on slim fast diets and consumed way too much coffee.

So I share my story because I know how it feels to have that membership and have the same routine day in a day out and just “maintaining what I had, fit arms and thick thighs not calf definition)I needed a change but that didn't come until I moved joined a bigger gym, tried a few classes out, worked out in my apartment gym because I  didn't have cable and that was a way to watch TV.

My life changed after my 1st baby  I gained 45 lbs (unhealthy pounds) and went home from the hospital  with more than that “Sigh” I began working out at home with my baby in the swing, I walked and started Power 90 DVD– with my sisters. (Hello Tony) a man who loved squats and abs, but it worked. We started training for the Disney marathon and found out I was expecting baby #2 (fast forward after her I lost all and more of my baby weight and loved working out at home it was amazing) then baby #3 came yes I had learned to eat better, workout with 2 babies and one on the way at home and although gained 30 lbs it was healthy and came off quickly.  My thigh’s still thick and my arms still strong and a belly that had 3 babies in 4 years needed some extra work…hello Insanity I know I've shared this before BUT I want to make known that I was a gym rat, I was that girl that loved the workout but I was getting the same results for years I was maintaining until... Insanity changed my body, I found legs that I never thought possible I found abs that everyone said would be gone forever and I found ME someone that although selfish sounding fell in love with my body the body that was no longer 16 but one that was in her 30’s and proudly carried 3 babies and I found energy, happiness and my marriage is amazing. Why wouldn't
I want to share what I found with you maybe you are the one stuck in a rut, in the same routine wondering “is this really worth it” “Am I ever going to feel more like the person inside” “will I ever gain my confidence back” the answer is yes, yes and yes! You can BUT you have to try new things jump out the normal and try new things a new class, a new routine, hire a trainer, ask me I have so many workouts I do know all from my home I know what works and I know how to get the results to transform your body and your life it’s amazing that I get so excited to share it with you.

You want change, a transformation, a healthy heart and a body to match, we all OK most of us want that, but not sure how to go about getting all those things at once.
