Wow - Breath in Breath out....Relax is what is going through my mind.
I have to sit and journal a few minutes because if I comment or post it will
be will come off as a negative comment and that is not my intent. I have Irish
Blood which comes with an Irish temper that has had me spend many years in
prayer to control my outburst and comments. So today I'm taking a step back
before I do anything because that Irish Blood is a Boiling!
My issue is why can people comment on how thin, skinny, muscular someone is
but we cannot say those same things about how heavy, overweight, disease filled
people are? why do we have to "watch" what we say in order not
to hurt the feelings of a "certain" body type but it is done ALL day
long every day to those that work hard, eat well, breath clean air while
exercising and are not flaunting their bodies but sharing that the work
involved is worth sharing with others. It is way more than outward appearance
people. It is taking pride in the body God gave me. It is doing something every
day that challenges the muscles HE created running with the Legs He gave me
with the heart and lungs that make it happen.
I was recently called out on posting a picture of me in a bathing suit- I'm
a Florida girl and I didn't mean to attract the attention and comments it did
(mostly behind my back) but it did and I in no way would ever post myself in a
way the I thought defiled my Temple. I'm sorry it it came across as that and
for future post I will be clear of my intent. I wanted to inspire others to
reach their health and fitness goals not show-off "look what I've
done" that's not me. I know we are all created special and unique. Just be
your best don't settle for what the world says is OK. What's the intent
of your heart? Because God' wants you to be happy and whole from the inside
out.
Food can be an addiction much like drugs, alcohol & working to much, why
do we glance over the fact that anything that is put before God is an idol and defiles
(our body) God's Temple Including our words.
I understand some people struggle, I get it!!! But both side struggle. Some
men and women would love to gain more weight or be free from unhealthy habits.
Likewise I know overweight people that try and do great things for themselves
and overcome battles every day. When will we stop hurting with words and actions?
Take a step back a re-evaluate your own words and actions and how you would
want someone to approach.
Our Bodies are meant to be Well-Water with Jesus Christ - don't let words
and actions cause you to Wilt.

I know healthy is possible in any season and stage of life and it's been my mission and thankfully my job to coach clients in finding healthy shifts in their daily routines to live a healthy, happy, fit life. My focus as a health coach is not to add another thing to your schedule, instead we shift things and define what is important and what can be adjusted in this season of life for you to achieve your definition of healthy and start living that life today.
Good for you, temper and all. You are right, we do need to be mindful of both sides of the "weight" issue. I've been on both sides myself and the comments (usually negative) come from all sides, too. Congrats for standing up for yourself and your intent.
ReplyDeleteAcknowledging and allowing yourself to feel what you feel is wonderful. I've had a weight issue since 4th grade and would hear "you have such a pretty face" and all the other platitudes. People are dealing with issues of weight on a daily basis, whether it's too much or even too little. I too would love to see people taken for who they are rather than the container in which they live. Society is going to have to change drastically for that to happen. When people comment, it's really always about them and not about us. I'm sorry you had to experience what you did, however, if you hadn't, you wouldn't have posted this terrific post!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you expressed yourself. I've been on both sides as well. I've worked hard to achieve my healthy weight goal and I help other women do the same if that is their goal. There will always be folks who enjoy being negative. I've learned to pass them by and concentrate on the people who are positive or who want help achieving their goals...whether it be weight or business. Keep up the good spirits! :)
ReplyDeletewonderful post, good to read the truth and be inspired
ReplyDeleteSometimes people need to hear the truth. Whether it be good or not. That might be what gets them to make better choices.
ReplyDeleteGood article! We do need to be conscious of the words we use to other people!
ReplyDeleteGreat article.. i do not want to wilt! I have started to drink more water, and eat healthy..
ReplyDeleteMaybe the issue is that in either case (you look great or you look terrible), we are judging. My goal is to get out of judgments and move into acceptance.
ReplyDeleteWhen we take judgement out of the equation, we are all free to live as we want. Trouble is that's really hard for humans to do. The answer to me is to stop worrying about what others say and live your life as you choose. Spend more energy on thinking and doing what you love as you can't change others only yourself. Wishing you peace, health and happiness just as you want it to be :-)
ReplyDeleteNice post! Reaching one's health and fitness goals is one way of nurturing the body. What are your health and fitness goals?
ReplyDeletemy goals for me is to be the healthiest I can be from eating healthy, working out growing as Godly mother, wife and being active with my kids. Having a well balanced life is so important and with the right tools is attainable for all.
DeleteThank you all for visiting and commenting I enjoy reading everyone's input I hope you visit again. Have a Blessed day!
