Happy 1st day of Summer
So today I'm going to do a 6 month check-up on my 2014 goals. I invite you to do the same, because the hype of the New Year and resolutions are just a few faded memories that sounded good at the time, we dreamed of the what if's. The I'd be debt free, I'd be fit for summer, I'd have my degree, I'd be off my medications, I'd have enough money for our family vacation, I'd be in a church family. I'd be married, I'd be starting a family.
First step of my review: Do my goals align with what God is showing me He wants for my life?
I know this is my hardest questions because I tend to have the "I'll do it myself thought" and then God says "hello, I'm still here and in control and this is not the time, the situation, or your choice, it's mine" So first and foremost bring your goals and dreams to prayer and ask for God to guide and direct you in your life. He wants the best for you, but he always wants your complete obedience along the way. I have to tell myself He wants to give me the desires of my heart, but only when my desires begin and end with Him as the center of my life. I can not expect Him to bless my life if I only sit and ask things of Him without asking Him to take part in my daily life.
Secondly I must ask if they are what I feel God wants me to do, my calling and mission than why am I not giving it my all?
I can sit here and blame so many things, someone told me I couldn't, I don't like being told no, I'm not good at this, I don't have the right people in my life, I'm not good enough, I'm too busy, I'm not creative, I thought I was outgoing...I'm not, too many upsets.
You might want to blame the world, blame your job, blame the busy gym, blame the church for making you "feel unwelcomed" or the school for not having classes that "fit" into our schedule, our family situation was not ideal to make things happen, we ran out of money before the month. Yes, all those are real life situations, so ask yourself how did you use those inconveniences and feelings, as excuses to throw in the towel? or as a catalyst to get out and get it done, to find a new way?
Making things happen is usually inconvenient why? because we take ourselves out of our comfort zone and it's not a popular place to be. To succeed you must reach failure, not to throw in the towel and give up, but to make the choices to push through and make it happen to get up and move past your failures. I've had more failures in my life than I can even get on here, but I'm learning that with each failure I turn to love it and push pass the urge to give up and change my goals, .If I did that I would be choosing to keep myself wishing, hoping and dreaming for the "What Ifs". God will Bless the path you chose if you are walking it with him by your side, if it's not the path for you He will start putting of road blocks, I didn't say inconveniences or a few pebbles to step over. I mean real hard road blocks that will leave you with no other choice but to say "I need a new direction God". You will find that a different path might lead you to your goal but it's with a new purpose at the end. All we do should point to Him; His love, His Compassion, His Salvation, His Guidance and His strength for we can do nothing truly well without Him.
Today think back on your 2014 goals and resolutions are you even close to checking off 1? if not why? Renew yourself today first to God ask Him to be your leader and your partner on this path and allow yourself to fall and fail, but get back up and keep pushing forward for in the pushing you will succeed. you will fall, you will fail and you will be tempted to give up but if you don't you will be stronger and on your way to success, you're future self with thank you.

Your "Daily Movement"
Yes we get into some details most people try not to talk about in public well, guess what I'm not most people, you're daily movement tells so much about you and your health, so let's get to it.
I get many emails & messages everyday asking what is the best fitness program or meal plan but mostly lately I get "I'm working out everyday I'm trying to eat healthy but... I'm not seeing results, I'm tired, hungry, bloated and my digestion is sluggish "(yes it's potty talk) because your "daily movement" is very important to your health and fitness and getting results from the inside out.
I don't talk about it on here often, but with my customers, clients and challengers it's a question and conversation we address because it is so very essential to your overall health. Sorry to say but looking fit and healthy on the outside really doesn't tell the entire story, it's like reading the front and back covers of a book and saying you read the book, but to truly get the entire story you must open it and actually read the inside "stuff" to see how fit and healthy one truly is.
Your digestion and elimination are directly related to your health, your fitness and lifespan. You can not expect your car to run smoothly & efficiently let alone not stink or have some back fires when you don't get regular oil changes and flushes, well the same goes for your intestines. Your gut needs flushes and cleaning regularly but it has to be done with items your body can recognize. Try to put the wrong oil or gas in your car...hello! Your "regular" car doesn't know what diesel fuel is and doesn't want it either, hence it needs a new transmission or trying to mix water and oil to do an oil change...yikes!!! You get the point your body needs the proper ingredients for optimal efficiency and to run the way it was meant to run. So let me ask you "how's your daily movement?" Are you cleansing your insides with proper food and nutrients? Or maybe you need a reset or a tune up! More information is included in the link below, including how to clean and reset the insides before you can polish, wax and tone the outside. It's about you getting health,y because yes, cars can get new transmissions but let's be honest you can't really get a new gut, this is yours to keep so keep it clean and healthy and working at its finest.
Daily activities to help with regular "daily movements"
1. eat fiber filled foods
2. exercise daily (walks are a great way to get things moving)
3. drink plenty of water throughout the day (don't chug a bottle at a time)
4. Eat whole foods opt for fresh and clean foods and lean meats.
5. Cut out processed and sugar filled products (rule of thumb if you can't pronounce it your body can't break it down easily - diesel gas in a regular gas car)
are you doing these things? are things are still sluggish check out the following link to see more about the Ultimate reset. www.myultimatereset.com/joyforfitness

Monday - Soap Box
Good Morning and I Truly mean that!
Although my morning began early with 2 little chatter bugs talking at 5:30am and ready to start the day despite me trying to coax them into my bed to snuggle a bit more. No worries, my husband was up getting ready for work and my alarm was soon to go off to meet a friend to workout. Yes I'd say a good morning as the sun rises and the coffee drips I baked fresh flax seed banana muffins for the kids (and myself, because the only time I'll eat an egg is if it's in a muffin) and then I sit down to read my devotions; I'm reading Knowing God, I didn't get it all read on the cruise but I'm not in a race to quickly know Him, my mission is to have a relationship with Him. Then I'm off to answer emails and messages regarding anything from workouts, recipes, advice on one thing or another or simply sign up for a 5K. It's a good morning!
You are probably saying "shut-up" but this is my reality, yes! I'm blessed to be able to do all of this because I'm just a "stay at home mom" oh lucky me...I warned you I was on a soap box today right?
This is it me Standing here (well sitting actually) saying I know to count my blessings and I also know that I work hard to keep everyday a "good morning" everyone is so quick to use one excuse or another for why they "can't" do something let me ask you, how many times have you said to your child "can't" is not a word we use just try again. So I'm telling you to try again, stop using excuses as your get out of jail free card they don't work in any game but Monopoly. It's time to pay the price of your biggest excuse and own up to the the results of your actions. I'm guilty of excuses everyday, we all are because we are human, we choose what is important to us and we set out thoughts on that one thing. I'm asking you today to stop the excuses and stop putting the "you can do it because...you're just a stay at home mom that "likes" to cook, clean, teach, taxi, feed, exercise, study, and etc. Actually, I really enjoy sitting in a coffee shop reading all day, but that doesn't help me reach my potential as a wife, mother and women of God.
Step out of yourself and see what's holding you back to be the best you can be. I challenge you to write your excuses down and cross them off each time you hurdle over them or replace them with the results of "NOT" to get something done.
example: I didn't prepare food this week - you end up eating out or picking up take out = just increased your unhealthy habits and decreased the money in your pocket.
example: I didn't wash the clothes yet...you now are sending your children to school in dirty clothes, the smelly kids.
example: I can't workout because I already took a shower...guess what there are no rules as to how many shower you can take in a day and if you say this too often you'll believe it and that workout will never get done shower or no shower.
example: I hear most often from moms: "I feel guilty to take the time for myself when I could be playing with my kids" guess what moms you are not always playing with your kids I know I don't guess where we choose to spend our extra 30 min (and lots more) on Social media - STOP this excuse you are worth it and your children need to see you care about yourself as much as them don't use them as an excuse they didn't ask for it or deserve it.
example: touchy subject "honey I'm too tired" I've been busy all day with the kids and all (you might even go to the extreme of sleeping in your kids rooms) guess what this excuse will cost you your marriage. Now are you worth it? is your spouse worth it? are your children worth it? think about it before you just give an excuse or say something that would hurt your future self.

Invest your time in God's word
There are so many books, articles, movies and programs on God and religion etc. But I've learned from reading those that they are from someone else's experiences and relationship with Him. I want my own story to write and that is why I have taken on along with my family reading the bible in a year. So many times we rely on what someone tells us the bible says when really all the interpretation and explanation is there for us to research and explore ourselves, yes it might take time, even a whole life time, but I have that to give and I have so much to gain from investing my time into knowing my creator and savior.
One thing I've learned this week is so often I come to Him with hesitation, where I need to come boldly with respect, but boldly come to trust Him and only through Him will I boast.
I'm learning that when I focus on Him and understanding His word more everything else will fall into place, not perfectly and definitely not as I planned, but as He has planned and I will continue to trust Him as I get to Know Him more. Pray-fully praying for His hand to guide me each step of the way.
Have you gotten to know your savior and creator? He's amazing I highly recommend the Bible I'd start in the book Romans or John and read about this amazing man that is worth the investment.
