Personal Power Hour
How to create and put into action a daily power hour.

As the school year begins again my life has become a little more crazy. I'm not just homeschooling one child, but I now have a 2nd grader, Kindergartner and a 2 yr old. Life is officially one big schoolhouse along with many other activities we do outside the home. we have dance classes, Jiujitsu, church, playgroups and much more.
This is where I've needed to step back and reevaluate a few things and the biggest one to date is my personal power hour; the hour that I set aside for me to focus on yes, me. It is not selfish, its essential for any person to give themselves permission to take care for themselves each and everyday.
A Power Hour is not a special formula or a one size fits all hour, so here are the questions I asked myself when creating my Personal Power Hour?
1. What time of day will be most effective to set aside one hour?
- for some it might be getting up before the kids get up and for others nap-time is perfect or even after bedtime for those night owls.
I'm up before my children
2. What are some personal goals that need some attention?
- I'm working on my Beachbody business so spending time each day to reading or listening to a success story or business build strategy is important for reaching my goals and building a foundation.
3. What inspires or encourages me to be a better wife, mother, friend, or just me?
- I love readying Verse a day with the commentary and building my devotion from that or a series of devotions or books that focus on my goal for the week, this week it's The Secrets of Vine By: Bruce Wilkinson. Being who I am and bearing my fruit in due season is so important to me. My fruits can be many things, my marriage, my family, my children, my business and personal relationships.
4. Lastly what do I enjoy doing for me and my health?
- to some I look like a gym rat, but to be honest yes I do love working out "most' days and my new T25 routine gets me in and out of my home gym in 30 minutes, 5 days a week. So I have no excuse not to "get it done" I feel great & ready to tackle my day. Sometimes I do this first thing and then continue on with my devotions and business goals while enjoying a cup of coffee.
*Other times this comes later in the day, maybe nap-time or even later.
No one ever said your power hour had to be in the same hour, it's about giving yourself permission to focus on the things that make you a healthier, happier and well balanced.
Here is what my hour looks like
15 minutes devotions
15 minutes bulding a succesful business (with coffee)
30 minutes for exercise (including a stretch and extra focused breathing)
Spend a few minutes asking yourself these questions and see where they lead you. Don't stop here, continue to search yourself and better yourself. When you do, your circle of friends and family will see, feel and love the new happier more focused you.
Share your personal transformation story with me. I'd love to be a source of encouragement and support in creating your Personal Power Hour.
